Album designs are taking up all of my time lately, but it feels like I haven't featured a wedding in a long time. Rachel & Davy were married on August 16th at a family friend's beautiful lakeside home.
Rachel & Davy opted for a very small bridal party, with only a maid of honor and best man. I've always believed that a smaller party can decrease the amount of stress heaped on the bride, groom, and family on the wedding day, with fewer people to organize and keep track of. There are also fewer time conflicts, allowing your schedule to be more relaxed. Rachel got ready with her sister and mom in an upstairs bathroom and it was a quiet, lovely time with very little stress and lots of fun!

I love interesting light, and was very pleased with this image of Rachel seeing her flowers for the first time.
A quiet moment just after getting dressed
The men got ready at a nearby hotel, and they were well equipped with the proper manuals
Though from the looks of things, there still might have been some confusion about all of that complex formalwear.
Rachel's height and long limbs gave her a natural grace that made it nearly impossible to get her into a bad position. I'm going to have to talk them both into doing an after wedding session with us. ;-)
Lush willow trees make for beautiful scenery

Rachel chose royal purple in her colors and it showed up so well in the outdoor ceremony
The first kiss
Some real emotion just following the kiss - love this!
Just after the ceremony, we glimpsed an amazing sunset over the water and made a run for the dock. The peak colors in a sunset only last a matter of minutes, and I was so happy we were able to capture them. The colors were reflecting off of everything - the trees, the water, and even their skin!
After some quick family photos, we took a couple of minutes for some nighttime shots before heading over to the reception

The reception was held at the beautiful home of Rachel's parents. The food and cake were set up inside, while an outdoor area was arranged for dancing and socializing. The cake was created by Elaine Mason of "I Do" Cakes.
The first dance

The father/daughter dance got a little emotional
Rachel & Davy gave away cinnamon glazed pecans as favors, and customized the lids with one of their engagement session photos!
Later in the night, the garter and bouquet were taken care of from a balcony inside of the house.
Rachel's eyes are so full of love whenever she looks at Davy.
