Celia & Ian were married on January 19th. The ceremony was held downtown at Church Street United Methodist Church, probably our very favorite church to shoot at because of its narthex, stone stairways, and intricate light fixtures. There are endless opportunities for photos.
Some of you may remember Celia & Ian's rockin' e-session a couple of months ago, where I mentioned that the guys would be wearing kilts. Everyone looked so fantastic.
I liked this shot of Ian checking out his garb in the mirror
The only problem was, they were no fun at all. Totally stiff and self-conscious. See?

Oh well. Better luck next time, right?
Since these guys are awesome, they built in some extra time into their schedule for some extra portraits. Note to clients: We are rarely given enough time to do an all out bridal and/or couples session on the wedding day itself..usually because of unexpected scheduling delays. Therefore, if you know that you are interested in a large variety of creative portraiture, it would be a good (great.. incredibly.. utterly smart...) idea to go ahead and schedule an additional portrait session with us after (or before!) your wedding day. Hey, that dress is just going to get thrown in a closet, so why not get some mileage out of it?
But anyway, I mentioned earlier that Church Street has an amazing narthex area.. so we spent a little time playing around. Here are a few of my favorites..

Celia carried a red rose bouquet, while her bridesmaids carried white roses accented with black feathers. I love it.
Celia and her dad, waiting to make their grand entrance...
Even though the rules at Church Street require photographers to stay way in the back in the choir loft, the sanctuary itself is beautiful enough to make up for not being able to be up close

Ian and his mom shared an emotional moment after the ceremony:
The reception was held at L&N Station. This beautiful cake was actually designed by Celia! I took down the information of the lady who brought her ideas to fruition, but I'll have to come back and include the name a little later when I find it:
The buffet was enjoyed by all...
The cake cutting got a little violent, but hey, Ian expressed his apology for showering his new bride in frosting..
Later, there were champagne toasts and the first dance...

This was one of my favorite dance shots of the night
There was much admiration of the bling...
Copious amounts of booty-shakin'
And a final dance to end the night...
Thanks so much for letting us be a part of your celebration. From your awesome engagement session to your endlessly classy wedding.. you two were a joy to work with!
